Relaxing and unwinding is something we all need to do but it's not as easy to do as we think. Relaxing our mind and removing stress from the body is the goal. There are different levels of relaxation and are encouraged to find out what works best for you.
Breathing - Concentrating on our breath is a great way to slow down and relax. A deep breathing technique is 4-7-8. Closing your eyes, inhale for 4 counts, hold your breath for 7 counts and exhale for 8 counts.
Walking is a great way to reduce stress and relax while getting fresh air and sunshine.
Yoga or stretching can be a great way to relax.
A short 20-minute catnap can help you rejuvenate and feel more alert.
Drumming can be a great way to help reduce stress while focusing on rhythm and breath.
Journaling can be another great way to relax and calm your mind.
