Having a community to support you when dealing with grief is important. Here are some ways you can help a friend struggling with grief.
Listen. It's more important to listen to you friend or loved one do most of the talking. A simple response is "I'm so sorry for your loss".
Don't feel responsible for fixing their grief.
There isn't a need for you to bring up or share your own story or someone else's loss. The focus should remain on the one grieving.
It's important to let them know you're there for them if they need to talk.
